National Association of Boards of Pharmacy

NABP Item Writer Volunteer Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer examination item writer for the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CANNOT TYPICALLY
COMPLETE THIS FORM FROM YOUR MOBILE DEVICE!

You must answer all questions and must attach a current CV to be considered.

Item development workshops support one of several programs: the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX), the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE), the Pharmacy Curriculum Outcomes Assessment (PCOA), the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE), and the Pharmacist Assessment for Remediation Evaluation (PARE). More information on each program is available at www.nabp.pharmacy in the Programs section.

Item development workshops are typically two-day sessions consisting of a didactic item-writing instruction session followed by guided item development. They are usually held once or twice a year per examination program in the Chicago area. Travel, lodging, and meal expenses are paid by NABP. Item writers need to have two years' experience in practice, teaching, or in residency to be invited to workshops.

Volunteers may also be invited to standard setting workshops, to be members of task forces, or to attend other special NABP events depending on need and expertise.

We request that anyone interested in volunteering for an item development workshop fill out the following online form.

If you have problems with the form you will be contacted by a NABP Competency Assessment Team member who will be able to assist you.

Thank you for your interest.
