I became involved in purebred dogs in 1998, at that time becoming a member of the Boxer Club of Canada, Oakville District Kennel Club as well as the CKC. Our first champion and foundation bitch came from Stan and Eve Whitmore of the famous Haviland Kennel.

From this, I started breeding with my son Justin and Everlong Boxers was registered in 2001. Since that time, we have bred or owned numerous champions and specialty winners, including the number three Boxer in Canada.   I have had the privileged to have been mentored by many legendary names in the breed, including the aforementioned Whitemore’s,  Shirley and Ben de Boer, Frank and Betty Rouse, Tom & Lillian Wainwright, Lorraine Valleau and Marylou Hatfield to mention a few.

I have also been an extremely active member in the clubs to which I belonged. I have been fortunate enough to hold the position of  President of the Oakville District Kennel Club (multiply terms)  as well  currently,  Vice President (multiple terms) of the BCC.

I have been involved in the world of pure bred dogs for 40 years. My first purebred dog was a Basset Hound. Next came Boxers, and now, along with the Boxers, we co-own a Boston Terrier.

I have bred numerous Canadian and American Champion Boxers, one of which was Grand Prize Futurity winner and WD/BW at the 1984 ABC Can/Am Champion Bellcrest Just Watch Me SOM LOM. “Texas” was the sire of 36 Canadian Champions and 7 American Champions.

Can/Am Ch Bellcrest Selectively Yours was a particular favourite and a Group winner. She finished her American Championship easily back in the days when it was not common to see plain brindle Boxers in the ring. Her Son, Ch Bellcrest Worth the Wait SOM LOM is the sire of 37 Canadian Champions and 4 American Champions.

In my career as a Boxer handler in Canada, I was privileged to have handled some top Specialty winners, many of which went back to my own breeding.

I am a life member of the Boxer Club of Canada Inc. and the Canadian Kennel Club Inc. as well as my own local All Breed Club (Nipissing Kennel Club Inc). I am also one of the founding members of the Northern Ontario Boxer Club and a long time member of the American Boxer Club Inc.

I have held the following positions:
Nipissing Kennel Club Inc - Pres. Vice, Sec, Treas, Trophies, Show Chair....over 40 years
Northern Ontario Boxer Club - ...Pres, Show Chair, Awards
Boxer Club of Canada Inc.CC. Awards, Judges Education, Web Master.
American Boxer Club - Judges Education, FaceBook page, mentor

I created the PowerPoint Presentation “Judging the Boxer”. This presentation is approved by the Boxer Club of Canada Inc. and used for judges education.

I have judged large Boxer Specialties in 6 countries, Canada, US, Australia, Mexico, the Philippines and Argentina. I am licensed by CKC to judge the Working Group.
