Focused on a collaborative commitment to supporting and increasing the number of women in leadership roles across the soccer landscape, Women and Girls in Soccer (WAGS), US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation's SheChampions Coaching Initiative are excited to announce they are hosting the first-ever all-female entry-level course for the Club Technical Leadership Pathway. Called the Club Technical Leadership Level 1 (formerly called the DOC license), the entry-level course is designed to help club technical leaders understand their role connected to their club’s mission, values, and principles and to begin the journey of developing their competencies as club technical leaders
The blended course will begin January 22nd and culminate the week of April 28th with summative assessments. The in-person portion will be held at the US Olympic Performance Center on the campus of UNC Charlotte in North Carolina from Thursday, January 30th to Sunday, February 2nd.
This program is designed to support course expenses and therefore interested applicants must complete the application below. Submitted applications will be reviewed by a committee and those selected will be invited to register for the course in the US Soccer learning center. Applicants with a B license will meet the qualifications for this course, however, US Soccer can waive that requirement for those coaches who meet the following standards and complete the waiver forms:
- C License holder + 5 years TL experience
- Current Technical Lead (TL) role within a club OR letter from club/league stating that student TL has been identified for a current or future role within the club
Waiver information can be found here. Please submit the waiver documentation as soon as possible.
We will close the application for the CTL-1 course on December 6th and all accepted applicants will be notified by December 20th. Once accepted you will have until December 30th to register for the course.
A $500 course fee deposit is due at registration. As hosts, we will reimburse that course fee (minus a $13.54 processing fee) and provide up to $500 for travel receipts. All other fees associated with the course will be covered by our organizations including hotel accommodations for the in-person component and meals during your stay. Reimbursement of fees and travel will be awarded following the successful completion of the course.
