CONCEALED PISTOL PERMIT APPLICATION

This online application is the first step in the process to obtain a South Dakota concealed pistol permit. Regardless of which type of permit you are applying for, you will need to eventually come to our Sheriff's Office to receive your temporary permit. More details about that at the end of this application.
 
The application for a South Dakota concealed pistol permit will ask several details about yourself so our office can properly perform a background check as required by both State and Federal regulations. There are a few different types of concealed pistol permits available, each with specific application requirements. If you are not sure what type of permit is best for you, please visit the South Dakota Secretary of State website.
 
To begin the online applicaiton process:
South Dakota law requires that pistol permit applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application. (SDCL 23-7-7.1) We cannont accept applications from anyone under the age of 18.

South Dakota law requires that pistol permit applicants must have "physically resided in and is a resident of the county where the application is being made for at least thirty days immediately preceding the date of the application" (SDCL 23-7-7.1)
 
We cannont accept any permit applications unless the applicant has met this state required 30 day residency requirement.
I have physically resided in Minnehaha County for 30 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of this application. *
