7 for 17 Nomination Form 
 

The United Nations has identified 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These goals are designed to work together in order to create a sustainable and prosperous future for all people and the planet. Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy seeks to recognize and celebrate young leaders in Utah who are working to improve both local and international communities.  Each 7 for 17 award winner must demonstrate a commitment to meeting one (or multiple) of the 17 United National Sustainable Development Goals through novel, innovative, or unique means. Applications are due May 31st.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible for the 7 for 17 nomination, individuals must:

  • Have resided in the state of Utah for at least 1 year
  • Be between the ages of 14-32 years old on September 29th, 2023
  • Not currently running for political/elected office

JUDGING CRITERIA

Nominations will be judged by a panel of young people, UCCD staff, and community leaders whose work relates to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The criteria are as follows: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to furthering Utah’s local and/or global community
  • Demonstrated commitment to UCCD’s guiding principle of citizen diplomacy
  • Professional achievement and peer recognition
 
Providing a letter of reccomendation and a resume is not required but strengthens the application.
