Short Term Lodging Permit Transfer Request

Short term lodging permits may be transferred to the new owner if the ownership of a lodging unit has changed pursuant to the provisions of NBMC Section 5.95.043 (A).

In the event of a transfer due to the sale of the property, the SELLER must request closure of their permit by calling 949-718-1997, or by sending an email to lodging@newportbeachca.gov. The PURCHASER must complete the information below and staff will send an email with application information and instructions.

IN ORDER FOR THE PERMIT TO BE TRANSFERRED, THE SELLER MUST CLOSE OUT THEIR PERMIT, AND THE PURCHASER MUST FILE A SHORT TERM LODGING PERMIT APPLICATION WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THE DATE OF TRANSFER OF TITLE.
