GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data accurately from multiple sources and obtains other information and signatures necessary for scheduling, registration and billing.

Screens effectively for compliance with payor requirements for medical necessity and pre-certification and completes third party eligibility and benefit verification to ensure accurate payment is secured.

Interacts in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patients and their representatives' needs are met and they understand hospital's revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent with specialized knowledge obtained through high school or up to six months' vocational education required. Ability to read, understand written and verbal instructions and interpret medical technology.   Ability to operate various office machines, computer and software packages required.  Good keyboarding skills required.  Complies with all missions, values and regulatory compliance requirements. Require typing 35 wpm.

EXPERIENCE - One to two years' hematology/oncology experience required.  Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with physicians, patients, family members and third party payers required.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent required.  Work requires ability to read, write, understand and/or transmit detailed instructions or information and ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.  Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in order to read labels when preparing cleaning solutions and be able to efficiently follow supervisor's work orders.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent required.  Must provide evidence of having passed both written and manual sections of Certified Nursing Assistant Program or one year prior home care experience at a certified Medicare facility.  Valid Alabama driver's license, proof of current automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required to carry out patient assignments.

Multi Skilled Technician - Emergency Room 

Full-time Position 6p-4a

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Perform various duties and routine technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients under close supervision.  Maintain patient and service rooms in clean orderly condition according to established policies and procedures.  Performs basic respiratory therapy procedures, chest x-rays, EKGs and venipuncture.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent required.  Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations to perform functions of job such as patient identification, determine weight and vital signs, etc.     

EXPERIENCE – Four to six weeks on the job training to acquire the skills necessary to perform job functions.  Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel.  Require knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques.

Pharmacy Tech - Pharmacy Services

Temporary/PRN Position 6p-4a

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

A pharmacy technician assists a pharmacist in the process of filling a prescription.  The technician will perform pharmaceutical care tasks under the control and guidance of a licensed pharmacist.  A technician must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent required.  Ability to read and write, prepare and interpret written instructions and make arithmetical calculations.  Require basic typing ability of 20 wpm to access data in pharmacy computer system.    

EXPERIENCE - Six months' of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with I.V. admixture service experience.  Ability to provide guidance and training to other pharmacy technicians and students.  Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Coordinates, screens, and summarizes data for quality improvement efforts. Coordinate plans, develops, implements and evaluates the Quality and Risk Management efforts at CVMC.

Quality/Risk Management Asst-   Quality/Case Management

GENERAL SUMMARY:
 
Under minimal supervision and according to general directions, performs varied secretarial and administrative duties such as composing and typing complex correspondence, relaying confidential information, gathering and interpreting information to develop complex reports,

maintaining departmental files.  Work is occasionally checked by supervisor and supervisor is available to resolve questions or exceptions. 

EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent required; additional related coursework preferred.      

EXPERIENCE – Minimum two (2) years' clerical/administrative experience required; healthcare experience preferred.  Must possess ability to proof and edit non-routine reports, correspondence, etc. for sentence structure and readability as well as draft routine correspondence and recurring reports, and maintain department filing and record keeping systems.  Able to operate standard office machines and equipment.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher.  Must have interpersonal skills necessary in order to handle sensitive and confidential situations, communicate with physicians and provide clarity regarding data and other information.  Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.  Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.

Respiratory Therapist -Respiratory

Job Description:
 
GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Administer more complex respiratory therapy procedures to general and critical care patients under minimal supervision and according to established department policies, procedures and standards.  Makes assessment of patients' respiratory status, administers prescribed therapies and monitors patient response to such therapies.  May oversee and direct work of lower classified personnel and assists in training and orientation of new Respiratory Therapist or students as requested.

EDUCATION - Requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary patho physiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood gas chemistry and pharmacology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two year AMA approved program in Respiratory Therapy.  Must have passed certified (CRT) and be licensed by Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.

EXPERIENCE - Approximately six to twelve months' of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to gain a complete understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures in order to provide assistance in resolution of difficult work related problems, orient and train new employees and provide technical advice on performing therapies.  Analytical ability necessary to review and evaluate various laboratory results, conduct respiratory assessments, and properly operate technical respiratory equipment.  Interpersonal skills necessary to explain therapy and goals to patients and family members and to communicate effectively with nursing personnel, physicians and other hospital personnel.
