RN Administrative Representative - Patient Care Services  RFT 3p-11p 7/7

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Administrative Representative is administrative representative after hours, on weekends and holidays. Responsibility of Administrative Representative is to assess activities of all departments in order to assure continuity of care.  He/she provides continuity in supervision of hospital personnel and provides guidance and direction to maintain quality clinical care along with prudent fiscal management.  He/she promotes staff, patient, family and physician satisfaction.  He/she creates and maintains an environment which promotes mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect; demonstrates personal and professional responsibility and assumes accountability for own professional development.  Administrative Representative reports pertinent information to management and administration.

EDUCATION -Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.  Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and/or health related field. ACLS required.

EXPERIENCE - Five years management/supervisor experience preferred.  Two years required. ER and/or ICU experience preferred.

Director, Critical Care & Clinical Support RFT

Director serves as clinical expert relative to high acuity procedures and product evaluation for facility.  Director demonstrates support for Mission and Vision of Coosa Valley Medical Center.  Director may be responsible for organization and administration of critical care department as well as facility accreditation preparation/activities.

Director must be self-directed and stay current with changes in TJC standards and CMS COP.

Director participates in planning and coordinating all activities related to delivery of patient care to include human resources, equipment and supplies, technological and financial resources.

Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining workforce with appropriate skills and knowledge to care for patient population in assigned areas.  Individual develops and maintains an environment that promotes mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect; demonstrates personal and professional responsibility and assumes accountability for own professional development.

EDUCATION -A BSN or equivalent Bachelor’s degree is required. A MSN or equivalent graduate work in healthcare related field is preferred. Critical care experience is preferred. ACLS, BLS, PALS, preferred.

EXPERIENCE- Five to seven years progressive nursing/healthcare experience preferred; minimum of three years in a leadership position preferred.  Must poses exceptional communication skills. Must be self-directed and know how to motivate others. Must be a life-long learner; self-starter.

Director, Preoperative Services/DSU RFT

Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates nursing activities and patient care in Operating Room, GI Lab, Pre-Admit, PACU, Central Sterile and Day Surgery Unit.  Director is responsible for 24-hour operations and organization/administration of assigned departments.

EDUCATION – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed by State of Alabama required.  Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

EXPERIENCE – Three to five years experience in surgical nursing required.  Minimum three years of management experience preferred.

EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Food Service Mgmt, Nutrition and/or Dietetics preferred.  Knowledge of basic office machines, computers with various software packages such as word processing and spreadsheets and patient therapeutic equipment/machines.

EXPERIENCE - Five to seven years' experience in Food Service Management including a minimum of 2 years specific to healthcare required.

Respiratory Therapist - RFT Respiratory 7p-7a
Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Administer more complex respiratory therapy procedures to general and critical care patients under minimal supervision and according to established department policies, procedures and standards.  Makes assessment of patients' respiratory status, administers prescribed therapies and monitors patient response to such therapies.  May oversee and direct work of lower classified personnel and assists in training and orientation of new Respiratory Therapist or students as requested.

EXPERIENCE-Requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary patho physiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood gas chemistry and pharmacology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two year AMA approved program in Respiratory Therapy.

EDUCATION - Must have passed certified (CRT) and be licensed by Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy. Approximately six to twelve months' of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to gain a complete understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures in order to provide assistance in resolution of difficult work related problems, orient and train new employees and provide technical advice on performing therapies.  Analytical ability necessary to review and evaluate various laboratory results, conduct respiratory assessments, and properly operate technical respiratory equipment.  Interpersonal skills necessary to explain therapy and goals to patients and family members and to communicate effectively with nursing personnel, physicians and other hospital personnel.
