Access Specialist- Patient Access Servicess, Temporary/PRN

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data accurately from multiple sources and obtains other information and signatures necessary for scheduling, registration and billing.

Screens effectively for compliance with payor requirements for medical necessity and pre-certification and completes third party eligibility and benefit verification to ensure accurate payment is secured.

Interacts in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patients and their representatives' needs are met and they understand hospital's revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent with specialized knowledge obtained through high school or up to six months' vocational education required. Ability to read, understand written and verbal instructions and interpret medical technology.   Ability to operate various office machines, computer and software packages required.  Good keyboarding skills required.  Complies with all missions, values and regulatory compliance requirements. Require typing 35 wpm.

EXPERIENCE - One to two years' hematology/oncology experience required.  Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with physicians, patients, family members and third party payers required.

Athletic Trainer, Full-time

GENERAL SUMMARY:  The purpose of the position is to facilitate athlete care duties following the guidelines established by practice act, licensing board, and under the direction of and referral by physician in respective state. To provide quality athlete care according to practice standards of National Athletic Trainer Association appropriate to age and disability related to limitations in function. To document and perform charge related functions. To be responsible for acting as a representative of profession, PT Solutions, and own person in a positive outlook. EDUCATION- Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Physical Education or related field. Licensure appropriate to governing body of state licensing board. Current CPR card. No previous or current sanctions by federal payors (CMS, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Champus/Tricare, etc…;) or other payors inclusive of state workers compensation system.

EXPERIENCE - Works confidently in crisis or emergency situation.· Demonstrates knowledge of safety practices. Dietary Cashier- Food Services, Temporary/PRN

Collects monies for food served to cafeteria patrons.  Collects monies, makes change, tallies receipts and balances out cash register drawer. Assist with other cafeteria duties as time allows.

EDUCATION - High school education or equivalent required.  Work requires ability to read, write, understand and/or transmit detailed instructions or information, and ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations to add prices, count cash, make change, etc.   

EXPERIENCE - On-the-job training to learn to use cash register, learn procedures, prices, etc. Good interpersonal skills as a majority of work time are spent in contact with employees and visitors.

Quality/Risk Management Asst  Quality (Full-time) 8a-3p

GENERAL SUMMARY:
 
Under minimal supervision and according to general directions, performs varied secretarial and administrative duties such as composing and typing complex correspondence, relaying confidential information, gathering and interpreting information to develop complex reports,

maintaining departmental files.  Work is occasionally checked by supervisor and supervisor is available to resolve questions or exceptions. 

EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent required; additional related coursework preferred.      

EXPERIENCE – Minimum two (2) years' clerical/administrative experience required; healthcare experience preferred.  Must possess ability to proof and edit non-routine reports, correspondence, etc. for sentence structure and readability as well as draft routine correspondence and recurring reports, and maintain department filing and record keeping systems.  Able to operate standard office machines and equipment.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher.  Must have interpersonal skills necessary in order to handle sensitive and confidential situations, communicate with physicians and provide clarity regarding data and other information.  Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.  Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.

HVAC Mechanic - Maintenance (Full-time) 7a-3p

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Tests, repairs, replaces and installs air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment for air conditioning or heating hospital buildings, preserving food, making ice, cooling water, etc. under general supervision.  Inspects and operates heating and cooling machinery or units and adjusts valves or thermostats to maintain required temperatures.  Assists in directing activities of subordinate personnel engaged in HVAC projects as requested.

EDUCATION - Knowledge of general electrical principles and systems as related to air conditioning, heating and refrigeration and ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings at a level normally acquired through completion of up to one year vocational training beyond high school.    

EXPERIENCE - Approximately two to three years related work experience required to fully understand the installation and repair of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning units.  Analytical ability necessary to determine cause of and find solutions to HVAC equipment.  Interpersonal skills necessary in order to be courteous to visitors, patient and staff while performing equipment repairs or installation.

Patient Care Secretary - 2 West (Full-time) 11p-7a

EXPERIENCE - Two to three years of experience in a clerical position with similar requirements preferred.  Experience and knowledge of computer operations to include order entry as well as basic operational experience preferred.  Work requires two to three months' on-the-job training to acquire necessary familiarity with department policies, procedures and forms.  Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively and cordially interact with patients, families, physicians, and other health team members.  Must be able to accurately and effectively use SMS computer system.  Position requires the ability to work in a stressful environment.

Respiratory Therapist -Respiratory (Full-time) 7p-7a
 
Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Administer more complex respiratory therapy procedures to general and critical care patients under minimal supervision and according to established department policies, procedures and standards.  Makes assessment of patients' respiratory status, administers prescribed therapies and monitors patient response to such therapies.  May oversee and direct work of lower classified personnel and assists in training and orientation of new Respiratory Therapist or students as requested.

EDUCATION - Requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary patho physiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood gas chemistry and pharmacology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two year AMA approved program in Respiratory Therapy.  Must have passed certified (CRT) and be licensed by Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.

EXPERIENCE - Approximately six to twelve months' of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to gain a complete understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures in order to provide assistance in resolution of difficult work related problems, orient and train new employees and provide technical advice on performing therapies.  Analytical ability necessary to review and evaluate various laboratory results, conduct respiratory assessments, and properly operate technical respiratory equipment.  Interpersonal skills necessary to explain therapy and goals to patients and family members and to communicate effectively with nursing personnel, physicians and other hospital personnel.
