PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP FOR CTE STUDENT GROUPS

WJEA now offers three curriculum-integrated program participation levels geared to middle and high school student media organizations. WJEA participation lasts from September 1 to August 31 each year. Each instructor/adviser MUST be a member of WJEA and the national Journalism Education Association (JEA). Although WJEA is not affiliated with NSPA, it is recommended that each program be a member of the National Scholastic Press Association, as well.

• Assistance in creating and maintaining CTE and CTSO requirements, including a leadership equivalency base to add your details and dates to with model language/frameworks approved in Washington state districts

• WJEA student press pass / participant card template

• Official program certificate with membership level suitable for framing

• Graduation cords (WJEA green) for senior participants

• Link to one WJEA Adobe training video for your student participants

COLUMBIA LEVEL

Up to 10 program participants from a single adviser's media program are included in a flat fee of $200. Additional student participants may be added during the school year within the Columbia Level up to 10.

CASCADE LEVEL

Eleven to 20 program participants from a single adviser's media program are included in a flat fee of $300. Additional student participants may be added during the school year until numbers go above 20.

OLYMPIC LEVEL

Twenty one to 50 program participants from a single adviser's media program are included in a flat fee of $400. Additional participants are $10 each.

Please upload a current semester list that includes each participating student name and their graduation year. You will be sent a reminder to update your list in early 2024. Student names will be used to generate press passes, certificates, and cords for graduating seniors. If possible, please upload lists formatted in Excel or Word. Questions?
