The Washington Journalism Education Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit professional organization for teachers who advise student media in Washington state schools. This summer experience for students is geared to provide them with the practical knowledge and journalistic skills that will enable them to produce quality media content for their school communities.
If you have any questions or issues regarding the registration process, please contact Kathy Schrier, WJEA executive director: wjeaexecutivedirector@gmail.com
Parental Permission, Health Information and Student Behavior Agreement forms must be read and signed before registration is complete. These forms will be sent via email to the parents or guardians listed in this registration submission. You may also access forms via www.wjea.org.

The WJEA J-Camp is a fully staffed summer camp with a ratio of 10:1 students to adults. Instructors are either certificated teachers or industry professionals. Assisting instructors will be a carefully chosen team of young adults, either currently in college or recent graduates, some former J-Campers, who will supervise recreation activities and provide dorm supervision at night. Floors will be separated by gender and a strict curfew will be enforced.
