Consider these topic ideas: recruitment events, community service, campus involvement, intramurals, and academics.

Effective with the Fall 2023 issue, the Shield & Diamond will shift to two issues a year. Chapter and alumni news is always welcomed and encouraged to be submitted any time throughout the year. The traditional chapter and alumni association notes will be published in print with less frequency.

Here are a few examples to get you started:

Epsilon is planning a reunion in March at the Inn at Virginia Tech. The chapter held their annual Fireman’s Challenge. Events included a volleyball tournament, field games, a dunk tank and a fire truck pull. All proceeds went to the local Blacksburg Fire Department, VT Rescue and Burn Victims. In October, Epsilon mulched the Valley Interfaith Child Care Center Church. Six brothers are on the university football team, one is on the basketball team and two are on the men’s soccer team.

Over the summer, Alpha Nu built a deck in the backyard to surround the sand volleyball court. The chapter is in Division 1 Greek recreation sports with two football, two volleyball, and two softball teams. The chapter was recognized by the university for their academic achievements.
