The William M. McKissack Scholarship

Funded by alumni family and friends of Dr. William M. McKissack (Alabama, Gamma Alpha '24)

The William M. McKissack Scholarship was established in 1984 to recognize and perpetuate Dr. Bill McKissack’s sixty years of devotion, dedication and outstanding service to our fraternity. This scholarship was established and funded by the Pi Kappa Alpha alumni of Huntsville and Madison County, Alabama with the help of other PIKE Brothers and Friends of Dr. Bill. Dr. and Mrs. McKissack contributed during his lifetime, and Mrs. McKissack made annual contributions from 1990-1996, then in 1996 she made a substantial contribution with endowed the scholarship.

It is awarded annually to an active member of an active chapter in the State of Alabama, whose resident and home is located in Madison County, Alabama. Each chapter may nominate one (1) person who it considers qualified under the terms of the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for Outstanding Scholastic and Leadership Achievement based upon criteria implemented by the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee.

Criteria

- Applicant must be a full-time student in good standing with the university and the chapter and provide documentation to support demonstrate exemplary leadership skill and outstanding academic performance. 

- A transcript must accompany the application.

- All components of this application must be submitted by the deadline.
