2018-2018 United Way Leadership Social Services

THANK YOU for your interest in applying to participate in United Way of Madison County's Leadership Social Services class.  It is a community leadership development program for health and human service agency (nonprofit and government) staff, and board members or key volunteers serving within the nonprofit or human service sector.

Sponsored by United Way of Madison County and key corporate and community partners, this 10-month long program is designed to identify leaders at agencies both inside and outside the United Way system who can guide change within their organization and in the community.

Earning an opportunity to participate is challenging and competitive but, if you are awarded a slot, you will: 

participate in leadership development experiences designed to build networks and create opportunities for cross-agency collaboration

connect, communicate and collaborate on a whole new level

interact with agency staff and board members as well as key community volunteers from a variety of health and

human service agencies and backgrounds to gain expanded knowledge of our community

develop relationships

identify issues to assume a more active and effective agency leadership role in addressing community needs.

Confirmation of your commitment and that of your agency or company must be completed in order for your application to be accepted.
 
Two confidential letters of reference, one from your agency director and the second from another local community source should accompany this application.  See reference forms at the end of this application.  You may also request such forms at cathy.miller@uwmadisoncounty with a subject line of LSS.
 
The application deadline is MARCH 16, 2018 close of business (5PM).  Participants will be informed of selection soon afterwards.
 
Please provide sufficient information to enable United Way of Madison County staff to make a determination of your eligibility based on your skills, professional experience, and ability to collaborate.  Accurate and thorough completion of the application and your ability to follow directions may, in part, influence whether you are chosen for the upcoming class.
