MTA Bus Information

We are pleased that the MTA is continuing to offer bus service to TA Lower School students.The MTA bus is a public transportation service. This means that the bus operates and follows policy in the manner of other public buses. Please note that TA does not provide a bus monitor or take responsibility for student behaviors and interactions that occur on the bus. TA students who ride the MTA bus are expected to adhere to and sign off on a written code of TA and MTA conduct and policies. TA reserves the right to suspend or terminate bus service for any student  who does not behave appropriately. TA does not have any input regarding bus routes, bus stops, changes in schedule, or bus delays.

Monday-Friday

For students in Nursery-5th grade. The pick-up route begins at approximately 8:00 am.

 

 

For students in 4th-5th grades only. Students load the bus at TA at approximately 4:30 pm on Monday-Thursday and 1:55 pm on Friday.

(Nursery-3rd grade students will not be allowed to use this bus on Friday or other days that have closely spaced dismissals.)

 

Sunday

For students in 2nd-5th grades. The pick-up route begins at approximately 8:45 am

For students in 2nd-5th grades. Students load the bus at  TA at approximately 12:15 pm.

 

 
MTA Bus Route Information

The Agudas Yisroel of Maryland's website has a MTA dedicated web-page with the  bus route and additional information - please click here.  Please note that while we do not anticipate the MTA will make changes to the bus route, the possibility does exist, and TA has no input in these decisions. TA will inform parents of updates as we are made aware of them. The MTA bus route number is 92.

MTA Bus Tickets

The 2021-22 MTA cost for each trip is $1.40. Please make sure to send your child with exact change. MTA bus passes that families currently have leftover from the past two years are still active and eligible for use

TA MTA Bus Text Alerts

TA updates parents on significant bus delays or issues (as we are made aware of them) through our text messaging system. If the bus has not arrived after approximately 20 minutes of the scheduled departure time, we will text you to promptly please come pick up your child. Once we have made the request to pick up your child, students will not be permitted to board the bus even if it does arrive late.

TA & MTA Student Conduct and Policies

TA does not provide a bus monitor or take responsibility for student behaviors and interactions that occur on the bus. TA students who ride the MTA bus are expected to adhere to the following conduct and policies. TA reserves the right to  suspend or terminate bus service for any student who does not behave appropriately:  

  • Students must remain seated at all times.
  • Students must speak and behave with derech eretz.
  • No verbal or physical aggression will be tolerated.
  • Students must comply with all instructions given by the MTA bus driver.
  • No eating or drinking on the bus.
  • Students shall not place any part of their body out of a bus window.
  • Any child who behaves inappropriately will no longer be allowed to ride the bus.
  • Any bus riding student who receives a “Needs Improvement (N)” grade for a behavior or conduct category on his report card may lose his bus riding privileges. This decision will be made at the discretion of the administration.
  • Students must comply with all MTA and TA Covid policies.

The MTA bus is a public transportation service. This means that the bus operates and follows policy in the manner of other public buses. TA has no input regarding bus routes, bus stops, changes in schedule, or bus delays. General MTA bus policies are as follows:

  • The bus will not wait for children who are not standing outside at the bus stop in the morning, nor will it wait for children who arrive late to the bus in the afternoon.
  • The bus will not wait for parents to meet their child at the bus stop in the afternoon.
  • TA has no direct contact with the MTA dispatcher or bus driver.
